In an earlier entry I blogged about the Globe Duo wireless landline service. I have been using this service since that time and truth to tell I am quite satisfied with it, despite the occasional connection glitch. I use my Duo landline number so much that it has replaced the old direct wired line to my office.
Now, Globe has taken its offer much further with its brand-new SuperDuo unlimited landline and cellphone calling plan.
For an additional PHP 499.00/30 days on top of your usual Globe post-paid subscription plan [PHP 599/30 days for pre-paid subscribers - Ed.], Globe SuperDuo will let you make unlimited calls to Globe Handyphone and Touch Mobile subscribers anywhere in the Philippines, in addition to letting you make unlimited calls to landline numbers in your home area code, and receiving calls made from such phones.
Pre-paid subscribers have the additional option of registering for a one-day plan, at PHP 35/day.
To be able to do that, what a post-paid subscriber needs to do is text “SUPERDUO
ON” [Without the quotes - Ed.] to 8888. Subscribers in Metro Manila, for example, need to add the abbreviation “MM” to the field of the text message.
If you happen to be subscribing to the original Globe Duo offer at present, all you need to do is to deactivate it by sending DUO OFF to 8888 and registering for SuperDuo in the manner described above. Best of all, you will retain your old Globe Duo-assigned landline number if you register for SuperDuo at once. The amount you need to pay for your old Duo service will be pro-rated.
In a reversal of its earlier policy, Globe also said that SuperDuo will allow subscribers with credit limits of PHP 1,000 to register for the service.
What is the registration procedure for pre-paid subscribers? First. ensure that your account has a sufficient load balance to pay for your desired subscription plan, then text “SUPERDUO
Post-paid subscribers who avail of SuperDuo should be aware that there is a 90-day lock-in period to this calling plan.
This promotion is good from today until January 13, 2010.
