Binibining Pilipinas 2010 Candidates Introduced: Updated With Winners
The 2010 Philippine beauty pageant season kicked off last Thursday with the formal introduction of this year’s 24 Binibining Pilipinas candidates to the press at the grounds of the Hotel Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila.
In leopard-print two-piece swimsuits, no less.
From left to right, the candidates in this picture are: (1) Mariella Castillo, (2) Rachel Ann Bustamante, (3) Patrixia Sherly Santos, (4) Selena Antonio, (5) Nicole Kaufmann, (6) Patricia Lae Ejercitado, (7) Laurese Ann Caparas, (8) Ana Marie Morelos, (9) Laica Joy Jimenez, (10) Maria Venus Raj, (11) Krista Arrieta Kleiner, and (12) Reina Mae Maerina.
In this photo, from left to right, the candidates are: (17) Rose Ann Aguilar, (18) Helen Nicolette Henson, (19) Kate Princess Alimurong, (20) Marie Ysabelle Matubis, (21) Czarina Catherine Gatbonton, (22) Dianne Necio, and (23) Mhirra Hernandez.
One candidate was the center of attention of many photographers: Krista Arrieta Kleiner, also known as Krissa Mae Arrieta, a GMA 7 exclusive network talent.
Another candidate that caught the eye of many in the audience is Czarina Catherine Gatbonton.
Last year’s Binibining Pilipinas beauty queens were also in attendance to lend their support to this year’s contestants: Binibining Pilipinas 2009 – International Melody Gersbach, Binibining Pilipinas 2009 – Universe Pamela Bianca Manalo, and Binibining Pilipinas 2009 – World Marie-Ann Umali.
Immediately behind Ms. Umali is (13) Gwendoline Ruais, and to her right is (14) Mary Ann Ross Misa and (15) Jam Charisa Libatog.
The other two candidates whose photos are not included in this entry are (16) Toni Alyessa Hipolito and (24) Angelica Damian.
This year’s Binibining Pilipinas pageant will depart from the single-program format used in previous years. First, a pre-pageant telecast will be broadcast on GMA 7 on February 28, 2010 at 10:00 PM. The grand coronation night will be televised on the same channel on March 6, 2010, and will be held at its usual Araneta Coliseum venue.

Krista Arrieta Kleiner was crowned Binibining Pilipinas 2010 – International, while Maria Venus Raj won the Binibining Pilipinas 2010 – Universe prize, and Czarina Catherine Gatbonton bagged the Binibining Pilipinas 2010 – World plum. In addition, Ms. Kleiner was awarded Miss Talent and Best in Swimsuit, while Ms. Raj was awarded Best in Philippine Terno, Miss Friendship, and Best in Long Gown.
The Miss Photogenic prize was awarded to Helen Nicolette Henson.

what happend to the judges? are they blind enough to see the real beauties? no. 18 should be one of the representatives either for miss world or miss international..i doubt if those contestants who won those title will win if they will be representing our country. sa q nd a portion plng wla na how much more if they will be asked by other nationality..oh poor judges!
