New WSJ Law Blog, Page Debuts

The Wall Street Journal has a new Law Blog as well as a Law Page devoted to “law, business, and the business of law.”

The Law Blog may not be of much interest to non-US readers, who may not care at all, for example, about the notorious Wonkette and news that author Ana Marie Cox will soon hand over the reins of this blog to a man, who will henceforth write as a woman… a development which has already incited some snide remarks in the American blogosphere.

A more congenial entry then: “The Death of the Ampersand,” about how some US law firms are rebranding themselves by ditching long firm names in favor of shorter, snappier ones.

Since I subscribe to the WSJ, and one of the freebies that come with a print subscription is access to the online version of the paper, I don’t know if the WSJ’s Law Blog will be open to non-subcribers as well. I sure hope it’s made available to everybody.
